Chile Trout Fishing
There are few places in the world where you will be able to fly fish for both Brown and Rainbow Trout in surroundings as wild and overwhelming as those in Chile. A week at El Patagon is very much what you want it to be however typically your experience will range from rafting down large rivers over glides, riffles and turbulent rapids, exploring rivers only accessible by horseback and or traversing the many lakes. The majority of the fishing is from a boat due to the inaccessible nature of the terrain although throughout the week you will float, wade and sometimes creep.

The Futaleufu is classic freestone river, which nurtures healthy stocks of Rainbow and Brown Trout, fed by abundant hatches of mayfly, caddis and stonefly. Most of the trout are in the 14-16” class but much larger trout are regularly caught.
